A BIT ABOUT ME
Hi! I'm Rebecca. I was born and raised in Mountain Home. I grew up with a love for music and took part in anything musical I could. School choir and music classes, piano lessons, school musicals, church worship teams and Christmas choirs were all things I enjoyed. I received piano lessons for ten years growing up, but I mostly loved the opportunities to sing.
When deciding what to study in college, I could not picture myself doing anything other than music. So there I was at Boise State University, studying voice! I loved studying music. College was a time of academia as well as personal growth. I enjoyed all the exciting opportunities to perform. I graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Music in Performance, emphasis in Voice.
My passion for music creates a desire to share that with others. I started Becca's Music Adventure in October of 2019 in order to infuse others with the joy of music. 'Adventure' is a critical word for my studio because we are always learning, always growing, constantly exploring. I want to help my students on their journey. My goal as a teacher is to empower others to reach their musical potential, and to express themselves through the art of sound. Music requires an open mind and a willingness to explore, both from the teacher and the student. From my side, I try to explore what works best for the student. I also want to teach skills students can use in any facet of music. Ear training, sight reading, and theory are some of the skills focused on that help create life-long musicians.
Whatever your musical goals, you can reach them! I would be honored to be part of your journey.
